Jewellery
About the Subject

Jewellery Design is a 3D subject. Learners must design and make their own jewellery. They learn to understand the origin of design and where to get inspiration to create their own pieces.

Different jewellery techniques are taught. They learn to do piercing, soldering, enamelling and how to manipulate metal to make a ring, pendant, set a stone, etc.

We make use of brass and copper sheet metal and wire, but we also teach learners that almost anything or material can be used to create jewellery.

Assignments are planned in such a way that it covers as many jewellery options and materials as possible.
